Hogpiano Cup - Term 3 2011

So the excitement has begun again with Dobby, Crookshanks & Hedwig Houses. After Dobby House winning Term 2 again, they had a strong start for Term 3. However today I must congratulate Talitha from Hedwig House for now taking over as LEADING POINTS SCORER so far this term!! This puts a lot of pressure on Dobby House - how will they cope???
Well it didn't take long for Dobby House to regain the lead again, much to the excitement of Dobby House members! In the last couple of weeks there's been some HOT competition between cousins Sarah & Kurtis! This has had a significant impact on the scoreboard of both houses! At the end of last week this put Hedwig decidedly in first place which I KNOW will get Kurtis' juices flowing this afternoon at his lesson!
However, both Hedwig & Dobby Houses need to always remember the power of Crookshanks House currently bringing up the lead! While Renee has been in China for 6 weeks, Crookshanks have struggled. However she's expected back soon & Stella also has a new keyboard! Also, Alex is doggedly learning Road to Gundagai so I see another points change VERY soon!!

Current scoreboard readings are:
Hedwig House 5264 points
Dobby House 4914 points
Crookshanks House 3184 points

What an amazing week Week 6 has been!!! For the last 3 weeks Hedwig & Dobby Houses have been competing strongly for first place, while Crookshanks House has made an AMAZING recovery!!! Thank Goodness Renee is back from China now to contribute points to Crookshanks House! She has been working strongly in the last couple of weeks since her return.

At the end of Week 6 the points score reads:
Hedwig House 8098 points
Dobby House 7954 points
Crookshanks House 6112 points

It seems to be the pattern in the last three weeks that Hedwig begins & ends the week in 1st place, while Dobby House leads in the middle of the week.

Highest points scorer this week is Ula-Claire with 636 points - congratulations to her in Hedwig House!!! Cameron was a hard worker this week with some fantastic work done during his lesson. Here's hoping that piano practice now follows Othello in his priorities.

Alice was pretty wonderful this week with 400 points! She was SO excited that she should play 'Sometimes When I'm Practising I Wish I Weren't' with a piece of paper covering her hands so that she couldn't see them! I am VERY proud of her for not looking at her hands!

Kurtis is a CHAMPION!!! This boy is AWESOME!! A month ago he didn't know his notes & was frustrated TO THE MAX!!! This week he was learning the James Bond Theme with great excitement!!! Kurtis is PROOF that a young piano student will learn to read music if they have the right motivation! Boring music = giving up!

I can't wait to see what my kids do next week!
